Housekeeper/Unit Secretary PRN

Lafayette Regional Health Center is a 25-bed acute care facility that is deeply rooted in the community it serves. JOB OVERVIEW: Under the general direction of the Department Director, the employee will perform the following duties: performs general clerical duties by preparing, compiling, and maintaining records in a patient care unit. The employee will act as the receptionist and greet patients upon their arrival to the ED when presenting to the front window. Employee will also be responsible for the telephone system by answering the phone and transferring calls after hours. This employee will work closely with the ED staff for the delivery of high quality patient care, complete the registration process for all new patients, is tactful and courteous in personal contacts and telephone conversations with all patients, visitors, Medical Staff, and personnel from all departments. Cleaning/disinfecting treatment areas, administrative and public areas of the ED, transport of red-bag trash, brown-bag trash, dirty linen, sharps containers, and making sure that housekeeping supplies are kept stocked.
EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Should be familiar with the routines and records of the unit. Employee must use tact and diplomacy. Computer/typing skills, medical terminology, housekeeping experience are necessary.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
