The role of the Graduate Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director. The Graduate Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of HCA.
Minimum Requirements :
We are willing to train graduates with a Registered Nurse degree who lack work experience as long as the following educational requirements are met.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
Current RN License Required for Kansas; required within 90 of graduation in Missouri
Must be able to obtain license from the Kansas or Missouri Board of Nursing
Must take NCLEX within 90 days of graduation for hospitals in Missouri
BLS upon hire & ACLS within 6 months of hire
If graduate nurse does not take the board exam within 90 day timeframe or fails the first time, consideration will be given as to whether the employee will be transferred to the position of Patient Care Technician II (salary reduced to PCT II rate) or employment ends. The second time the GN fails boards, they may be released from employment or may apply for a posted opening for which they are qualified. PCT II status cannot exceed 6 months from the time as initial hire as Graduate Nurse.
